Summer 2008
Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students:
I welcome each of you to our 2008-2009 school year. I hope you had a relaxing vacation and that you are looking forward with enthusiasm to the new school year. You will be receiving a packet towards the end of July. When you receive this packet, please read all of the information carefully and sign where indicated. The class schedule pick up date for Friday, August 8th.
The forms listed below are required before your student will be able to pick up his/her schedule.
Your student MUST bring the following forms on Friday, August 8, 2008:
* Blue emergency information form
* Pink district technology use policy
The Life Touch photographer will be present to take school pictures so students must bring the picture envelope with payment if you wish to purchase pictures. Because registration pick-up is an official school event, a student in violation of the dress code (see page 10 of the District Information Handbook) will not be allowed to pick up his/her schedules or have his/her pictures taken.
For your convenience, LHS yearbooks, ASB cards, PE uniforms and school apparel will be available for you to purchase.
Students whose names are not on the Hold List will pick up schedules on Friday, August 8th, according to the following schedule:
* 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM - SOPHOMORES ONLY
* 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM - JUNIORS ONLY
* 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM - SENIORS ONLY
* 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM - FRESHMEN ONLY
Students must have their paperwork completed in order to receive a class schedule. Any student who does not pick up his/her schedule on August 8 will report to the Student Center on August 13 at 8AM. Please come prepared!
Link Crew Freshmen Orientation is scheduled for Monday, August 11th from 8 AM - 12 PM. All freshmen are encouraged to attend. There will be a tour of the campus and other important activities. If you are a freshman, don’t miss it! The morning will be filled with activities designed specifically for our incoming freshmen. In addition, we have created special informative sessions for our Freshman Parents. Our parent sessions are scheduled at 8-9:30 and repeated again from 10:30-12PM to accommodate our parent’s schedules.
Lockers will be available for assignment beginning Wednesday, August 20th. All lockers must be shared. Students should plan to share a locker with a sibling or friend.
Please notice the student accident and health insurance application enclosed. Parents may consider student insurance for the protection of their son/daughter during school time or when a student decides to participate in athletics/activities. Return the student accident and health insurance envelope with the payment and application included to the Activities Office, if you are interested.
Please enjoy the remainder of your summer!
