Mr. Nugent grew up in Bridgeport, California where his family still resides and stated, “It has been an honor to serve the military members and their families overseas these last 10 years. However, I am very excited to be returning back to where my home has always been, the Eastern Sierra’s.”

A former social studies teacher and coach who has taught in both California and Missouri. Mr. Nugent has a long history of working with his staff, parents, students and community members in enhancing educational programs that ensure that students have the tools and resources to be college and career ready.  He is looking forward to working closely with the Lassen community to maximize the opportunities for all of our students.  Mr. Nugent believes that continuing to build a close partnership with Lassen Community College and a strong Career Technical Education program is critical for the success of our communities.

Mr. Nugent brings his broad academic and leadership experience to build on the progresses that have been made by Mr. McCabe and his Administrative team.  He will be arriving in Susanville in July and working with Mr. McCabe to ensure a smooth transition.
